This loop, nicknamed the “Green Monster” by the team of researchers studying the supernova remnant, has what appear to be mini-bubbles within the gas. The shape of these features is both unexpected and challenging for researchers to understand at the moment. This goes to show that looking at even well-studied objects with JWST’s high-definition, infrared eyes can yield some intriguing surprises! 4/
