Galaxy Build-up in the first 1.5 Gyr of Cosmic History: Insights from the Stellar Mass Function at z~4-9 from JWST NIRCam Observations
Exampl SED of a galaxy selected as LRDs (top panel) and as red compact sources (remaining three panels). The source in the second panel shows a marginal detection in the rest-UV (F150W) and might well be an LRD-type source. The sources in the two bottom panels show an extremely red continuum and drop out of all filters at <= 2µm, yielding implausibly massive solutions at high redshift that can not be ruled out based on the available data (third panel) or almost completely unconstrained masses and redshifts (bottom panel).
