Mikko Tuomi | A small portion of the field observed with the # JWST NIRCam for the Cosmic Evolution Early Release Science (CEERS) survey. The light from some of these # galaxies has traveled for over 13 billion years to reach the telescope. Some galaxies appear to have grown so massive, so quickly, that simulations couldn’t account for them. Some of those early galaxies are in fact much less massive because black holes make them appear much brighter and bigger than they really are. https:// webbtelescope.org/contents/med ia/images/2024/134/01J5E841G3BC9FPQ90TNBVMEWG
